Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa noticed that the growth of their Facebook “likes” was slowing and interaction with the fans was becoming stagnant.

Facebook Contest and Social Email Campaign

Rancho Las Palmas used BlueHornet to promote the launch of a Facebook contest. The promotion included a multi-touch email campaign to subscribers of the Rancho Las Palmas email program.

 

Results:

Raving Fans, Higher Engagement, Incremental Revenue

  • 100% increase in Facebook fans (from 4550 to 9800)
  • 100% increase in monthly active users (from 5900 to 13800)
  • Over 60 additional positive Facebook comments
  • 85 wall posts while the contest was running
  • Gained incremental revenue from non-winners (23 bookings)
  • Continuous increase in fans after the contest ended
  • Guest post on Hubspot’s Content Camp blog with links back to their Facebook page, Twitter, website, blog, Foursquare venue and YouTube page
  • Reached 10,000 Facebook fan goal the following month
  • Contest entrants have since increased their engagement, with higher open and click rates averaging 30 to 35%, typically more than double the open rate of all other subscribers
